A few months ago I posted the first part of Love Struck Baby by Stevie Ray Vaughan. The second part got buried with the revamp of the website and I only just got chance to finish that off. In Love Struck Baby Part 1 (Quickguide 7) we looked at the Intro and the vocal parts of the tune.
In Part 2 we’re going to look at all three solo ‘choruses.’ As with all recent tutorials, each part is played at performance tempo and then at slowed down tempo with a chordal metronome and edited with picture in picture so you get close up so of the left and right hand.

Love Struck Baby was written by Stevie Ray Vaughan and featured on the Texas Flood album. It’s another of those Stevie Ray songs where he and the inimitable Tommy Shannon play with their guitars tuned down a half step. Though interestingly, on some of the live recordings of this you’ll find that it’s actually played in Concert A.
So although it looks like I’m playing this in A, I’m actually playing in Ab as my bass is detuned.
