On this page is the video, pdf and practice track for the Paul McCartney Style Sight Reading Etude 1.
This is an uptempo, 8th note, rock and style line to changes similar to those that Lennon and McCartney used in a song they gave to The Rolling Stones before recording themselves.
Here’s the video:

Learning From Paul McCartney Volume 1
The Band In A Box style used to create this bass line is part of a pack of styles that will be available for separate purchase (approx $20) or will be free with the online bonus version of the book.
Fun up beat video look forward to the book. Have to go grab my bass and join the fun.
It’s actually a good technique tester as well at the designed tempo of 160 BPM! SO play it a few times slowly to start with!
Can’t hear the bass! Why is the guitar so loud and distorted? Yeah, real life is like that but…if I can’t hear this bass part, how do I learn this bass part?? And why would I buy more of this frustration???
What are you listening on? I’ve played it with headphones, with my laptop speakers and laptop speakers. Bass is loud and clear!!!
I had no problem with the Youtube clip but there was an mp3 file when I downloaded the zip file and this just had your backing track without your bass part.
Hey sean – yes, that’s the Practice Track for you to play along with as you sight read the line!
That’s your jam track. You are supposed to fill in with the bass. I do it with all my jam tracks. I make mine by using a software called Lalal.ai, which using AI removes the instrument of you choice from any song you put on there. Just upload an MP3 file into it and it will separate the bass line from the song. It’s a great way to learn isolated bass lines too without the need for tabs.

Moises is also another worth checking out.
Hey Andrew
Yep – the AI tools are starting to get REALLLLLLLYYYY interesting!
I’ll check lalal out…I’ve tried Moises…it’s OK. Have heard good things about SONG SURGEON too.
