Paul McCartney’s Greatest Bass Line (Part 3)

July 7, 2016 by Paul Wolfe

In the last couple of days I posted screen capture videos of McCartney’s isolated bass lines with the vocals on top…the two lines I think are his best are Something and I Want You (She’s So Heavy).? But there have been lots of other suggestions.? One of those suggestions is Come Together….so I did a screen cap video of the bass and vocals for Come Together so you could check it out:

If you haven’t listened to the isolated bass/vox for I Want You then you can find that here:

Isolated Bass For I Want You

And if you haven’t listened to the isolated bass/vox for Something, that’s here:

How do you get the separate original tracks. That’s incredible.
I couldn’t get a link to work for the Isolated Bass to “Something” or the “I want you”

Really nice – ever listened to the opening bass line from Last Hope’s Gone by the Paul Butterfield Blues Band ? It had those distinctive slides on the fretted bass, maybe influenced by Sir Paul. ( a lot of Pauls !)

    I love this line.
Which bass did he use on this track?

I found Silly Love Songs to be an incredible bass line. One of his best, for sure.
