Cadillac Ranch was originally released in the early 1980s on Bruce Springsteen’s album The River. If you’re into any kind of rock, pop, country etc then this is an album that’s chock full of lessons for bass players – this is the fourth of a mini-series of videos from The River.
Cadillac Ranch is based on a simple 8 bar chord progression that just repeats round and round. This is one of the most straightforward bass lines on The River – in the lesson I teach the basic way that Garry plays through the 8 bar chord progression. Plus I teach a variation that he uses underneath the sax solo.
