Video Lesson – Little Green Bag

May 4, 2015 by Paul Wolfe

Here’s a video showing how to play bass to Little Green Bag by The George Baker Experience. Here’s Part 1:

Little Green Bag was written in 1969 and originally released in early 1970 by Dutch band The George Baker Experience. It became an international cult hit after being featured in the movie Reservoir Dogs.

In Part 1 of the video I look at the intro and the verse sections of this tune.

Here’s Part 2 of how to play bass to Little Green Bag – this covers the ‘double time’ section. (Note that it’s mostly the other instruments that play with a double time feel, teh bass line is already playing a 16th note based line – though if you listen to the original you can notice how the bass line simplifies to 8th notes prior to this section coming in).

The original of this section is a great piece of bass playing – I’ve simplified it somewhat, though it’s still pretty tricky.
