This tune was off Michael Jackson’s Thriller album – and although there’s a slap section in the tune I’m more interested in teaching the Synth Bass line that is the foundation of the tune.
I’m using a Synth Bass sound that I got by dialling round to it on my Variax 702 bass guitar – if you aspire to be a working bass player you probably need to be able to cover 5 or 6 different sounds. Synth bass is one of those sounds. There are pedals available that you can check out that will help you do this.
