Video Lesson – Start Me Up

Here’s a video showing how to play bass to Start Me Up by The Rolling Stones.:

Start Me Up has essentially got just two sections to the tune – there’s a verse and there’s a chorus. In the original there are lots of subtle variations throughout the tune.

In the video I’m going to teach you a version of the bass line that will work for most cover band’s version of the tune – and also allow you to vary up your patterns so that it sounds like you are being more ‘spontaneous’ than you actually are
